Policies

Welcome! Thank you for choosing Keepsake Kottage for your crafting retreat We are sure you will enjoy your stay and will want to come back time and time again. For your safety and comfort, we ask that you read and familiarize yourself with the Keepsake Kottage house rules.  

1.   Check in/out time is arranged per retreat. The house will be open upon arrival. In case of emergency or problems with facilities, please contact 641-736-2034 or 760-964-5426, or 949-922-7929. 

2.   The house phone number for receiving calls only is 641-736-2034. 

3.   There is ample parking, but please be considerate of our neighbors and do not park to the right (north) of the little yard shed. You may also park the entire distance in front of the vacant lot across from Keepsake Kottage. 

4.   Our craft room has 15, 6 ft. tables with comfortable, leather, adjustable task chairs. There is one larger chair designed for a big and tall person. You will find two floor and two table top Ott Lites. There are two irons/ironing boards. (Please note that we can not be responsible for iron malfunction so you may want to bring your own.)You will find many quilting tools including a back up sewing machine for emergencies. For our scrappers, you will find tools and idea books, some basic backup paper needs, stocker makers, stamps, scissors and more.

5.    The craft room has a stereo, so bring your favorite CDs. We have XM on the TV in the sunroom along with a DVD player.

6.   Keepsake Kottage has wireless internet access. The computer is installed with Scrapbook Deluxe and Electric Quilt software, Microsoft Office and is connected to a 12 x 12 color printer and scanner. We provide one extra black and one extra color ink cartridge along with regular copy paper. We ask that you leave any empty ink cartridges for recycling. 

7.   Keepsake Kottage has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. There are 12 twin beds with two full size beds in private rooms. There is one daybed and a chair sleeper located in the loft area. In case of overflow, the sofa in the sun room also folds out to a full sized bed. 

8.   All towels and bed linens are provided. Hooks are available for hanging wet towels.We ask that our guests remove their sheets and pillowcases and place them at the end of the bed before leaving. Also, please place wet towels in the hampers provided.

9.   Keepsake Kottage is located in the country, and is on a well and septic system. 

VERY IMPORTANT!
 Please flush ONLY toilet paper down the toilet. Any other item will clog the system and create expensive repairs. small bags are provided for feminine sanitary products which can be disposed of with regular trash. Thank you for your cooperation!


10.  There are three fire extinguishers in the house. Please familiarize yourself with their locations upon arrival. (Kitchen, Craft Room & Loft)

11.  A first aid kit is located in the hall closet, nearest to the kitchen.

12.  If anything is damaged or broken, please contact us immediately so that we m
ay take care of the problem as soon as possible. Any excessive damage to the house will be the responsibility of the guests, and an itemized list of damages and costs to repair will be
 mailed to the coordinator. 

13.  Coffee, tea, cream, and sugar are provided. Crafters may bring their favorite beverages and any food items they desire. The kitchen is fully equipped for meal preparation. If you prefer to order take-out or catering services, there are brochures available at the house.

14.  Keepsake Kottage is a non-smoking facility. We love pets, but our furry friends can't come to the retreat.

15. Please contact us immediately if there are problems with the plumbing, air conditioning or furnace, or if you have any questions.
